About

My story

I started my dog training journey by being in a very similar position to where you are now.

My previous rescue dog, Quila, was struggling to exist around other dogs and humans. She found them both unpredictable, meaning she didn’t feel safe and would take matters into her own paws.

She would bark, lunge, pull, spin, chase, and charge to make sure her message was loud and clear: Give. Me. Space.

She was the spark that ignited my interest in dog behaviour, especially those who struggled to live in our human led world. Whether that was from fear, excitement, overwhelm, anxiety, lack of emotional regulation, or anything else.

What she taught me was that every dog is individual, so a cookie cutter approach just wasn’t good enough. Each dog should be treated like the unique creature they are.

Our Generous Sponsors and Donors

I brought this lesson into my business, feeling an enormous sense of pride around the creative, skilled, thoughtful, and meaningful approach I take with training.

Training your dog should feel good, fun, and something you look forward to doing. It’s a bonding experience with your dog that is unmatched. You’re learning to understand each other even though you don’t speak the same language, that’s so cool.

These reasons are why my programmes are tailored to each individual canine and human team, with broken down steps, easily digestible material, and a whole library of fun games for you both to play.

With the right tools and counsel, you won’t need to train for hours at a time, or even every day for that matter. A few minutes of clear and precise training will always trump hours of guesswork.

Everything becomes predictable and manageable. You’ll quickly start seeing changes in your dog, and before you know it everything else seems to slot into place like pieces of a puzzle.

The training programmes I’ve created are for people who adore their dogs, and also understand that showing up requires more than just love. It’s commitment, openness, regularity, learning, patience, choice, agency, and so much more.

We build rock solid foundations, leaving no need for shortcuts or quick fixes. Whether you’re a new pet parent or you’ve been one for years, there is space for all kinds of people here.

What I care about the most is you and your dog’s wellbeing. Both ends of the leash matter. Training should leave you both feeling triumphant, not deflated. It should create confidence, not take it away.

If this resonates with you, let’s talk about your dog

Our Training Philosophy

At A Dog’s Perspective, we use force-free, positive reinforcement training methods that encourage dogs to make good choices through motivation and rewards.

Rather than focusing on punishment or correction, we teach dogs what we want them to do and reward those behaviours consistently.

This approach helps dogs learn faster, retain skills longer, and develop confidence while strengthening the bond they share with their owners.

Training should be enjoyable for both ends of the lead.

Our Values

Kindness First

Every dog deserves patience, understanding, and compassion throughout their learning journey.

Lifelong Learning

Training doesn't stop after puppyhood. We believe learning is a lifelong process for both dogs and owners.
